  • Our well trained and compassionate staff are eager to take care of your pets. Our highly trained staff of Veterinary Technicians, as well as  Technician Assistants, Client Service Providers, Kennel Attendants and Groomers continually strive to provide excellent customer service and veterinary care at all times. Our staff routinely participates in continuing education, so we can remain up to date in our ever changing industry!

  • Tim Brunner, DVM

    Dr. Brunner was raised in the small town of Brillion, Wisconsin, he attended Auburn University and earned a B.S in biology before pursuing his degree in Veterinary Medicine, graduating from Auburn in 1994. He practiced medicine in a mixed animal practice in Wisconsin until he purchased Southlake Animal Hospital in October of 1996. In 1999 he built Weatherly Animal Hospital, with the goal of providing the highest quality veterinary care in the area. In July of 2010, Dr. Brunner formed a corporation named Alabama Veterinary Management Services, P.C. to oversee the daily operations of these locations. Dr. Brunner and his wife Jennifer have 3 children, one is in graduate program in Kansas State University, one enrolled at Birmingham-Southern College and the youngest in 10th grade. Currently they have 2 canine companions at home, a golden retriever and a mastiff mix.

  • Kathy Toomey, DVM

    Kathy Toomey grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and received a B. S. in Biology from the University of Mississippi.  She then attended Veterinary School at Louisiana State University and graduated in 2004.  Dr. Toomey has practiced small animal medicine since that time and worked in Atlanta then coastal South Carolina before settling down in Birmingham in 2007.  She and her husband, James, met in vet school and enjoy staying busy with their three young daughters, two beagles, and one cat.

  • Robert Phillips


    Robert Phillips has been a groomer at Weatherly Animal Hospital for the past 8 years. Phillips received specialty grooming training under top groomers in Atlanta, and we have been fortunate to have him make Weatherly one of his home grooming bases.  He is patient and calm with the animals, and takes great pride in his work, but also in making sure the cats and dogs come away from the grooming experience happy and looking beautiful.  

  • Ashley Driver

    Ashley grew up in Calera, AL, where she married her high school sweetheart, Kyle. They have a son, Deion. Ashley has been working in the veterinary world for over 10 years. They have 3 dogs, Diamond, Dro and Zoi and 5 cats, Callie, Gizmo, Mia, BonQuiQui and Tyrone.

  • BriAnna Lowrey

    BriAnna was born in South Georgia and moved to the Hoover area when she was 11 years old.  She currently live in Blountsville, Alabama with her husband of two years and her 8 month old daughter.   They have a few furry friends ranging from cats to cattle and horses. 

    She has been in the veterinary field for 13 years.  She is currently a Receptionist at Southlake Animal Hospital.  She enjoy being a receptionist because she get to not only interact with our patients but with their owners as well.  She takes great pride in helping our patients and their owners.


  • Nicole Scorby

    Nicole Scorby serves as a technician at Weatherly with seven years’ experience working with animals. Nicole has developed a wonderful way with animals.  She loves helping animals get better when they are sick and stay well with preventative vaccines and medicines.

  • Rebecca Estep

    Rebecca Estep brings over ten years’ experience to her position at Weatherly. Estep serves as both a technician and office manager. She has great relationships with both our clients and their animals.  Estep continuously makes sure we are performing gold standard medicine and giving the animals and their owner's the highest level of care that they deserve.

  • Jill Scorby

    ill Scorby serves as the receptionist for Weatherly Animal Hospital and technician as needed. Scorby has spent over 15 years’ working in the veterinary field because she enjoys meeting the clients and developing a relationship with them built on trust and showing the clients how much she genuinely cares about their fur baby.  She always has a friendly smile, and loves to interact with the animals and the clients alike.
